Abstract

"All-optical switching at 1.5 mu m based on induced nonlinear polarization rotation is demonstrated in both a polarization maintaining and a standard telecom fiber. Excellent switching stability is obtained in both cases by removing any detrimental temperature or pressure induced changes of the output polarization state with a Farady mirror stabilization scheme.
